United Nations has branded twenty first century as the century of water. With this long-term theme in focus, the U.N has designed detailed strategies to optimize the usage of available water especially fresh water resources. To meet this goal, all Nations and governments should realize the importance of water conservation and take massive efforts to optimize the usage and conserve the limited water resources.
One of the strategies for optimal use of limited water resources is water recycling. The core of the recycling infrastructure is a functioning sewage network along with water treatment plants designed with high specificity for domestic and industrial consumers.
Urban water and sewage researches into using clay pipe have been already started in Iran. The government regulators in Iran, as in rest of the world, increasingly prefer the usage of clay pipes and this is evident from ‘Provision 29’ of budget law, passed in 1992, which specifically emphasizes the usage of vitrified clay pipes.
